Lindsey Vonn may have retired from professional skiing, but that doesn’t mean she’s slowed down much. The former downhill superstar just published a memoir, Rise, earlier this month, detailing a life and career that has included 82 World Cup wins, 20 World Cup titles, three Olympic medals, and seven World Championship medals. And on January 21, a new documentary film she co-directed with Frank Marshall about her childhood idol, ’90s ski legend Picabo Street, will air on Peacock and Olympics.com ahead of the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. PICABO explores lesser known aspects of Street’s life, and her challenges both in and out of the limelight and on and off the slopes.

Picabo Street Documentary Launches With Lindsey Vonn, Frank Marshall Directing

Olympic Channel has started production on a documentary on gold medalist skier Picabo Street, directed by Lindsey Vonn and Frank Marshall, Variety has learned exclusively.

Street won the gold in the Super-G at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan. She also won the silver medal in the downhill at the 1994 Olympics. The film, slated for release in 2022, will explore Street’s childhood, her difficult road to the gold medal, rise to fame and enduring legacy.

The project will be Vonn’s first film project via her new production company Après Productions. Vonn, who the downhill gold medal in 2010, co-founded Après Productions with her partner and longtime friend, Claire Brown, to create content that will tell untold athlete’s stories.

They typically reside in New Jersey when Subban is in-season, but when the NHL suspended its season in early March due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vonn and Subban decided to spend their quarantine in L.A. with their three dogs: Leo, a Staffordshire Terrier; Bear, a Retriever mix; and Lucy, a Cavalier King Charles spaniel.

The greatest female ski racer ever was profiled in Lindsey Vonn: The Final Season, an HBO documentary that premiered in November 2019; launched her own skiwear collection, Legacy Line, with Head Sportswear; will release her memoir, Rise: My Story, in March 2020; and will launch a beauty line next spring. As if she didn’t have enough on her plate, Vonn and Claire Brown will venture into the entertainment industry with the creation of Après Productions.
